What are some of the concerts you've all been to.
I've been to garth brooks, tom Petty, U2, Bruce Springsteen, The wallflowers, Allan Jackson Brooks and Dun The EaglesThe Rolling Stones. That's just some I've been to a few more almost to many to list here lol. I really love going to concerts, and where I live there's a few really great venues to see bands.
None in past few years due to steep prices and no job. But in the past...
Garth Brooks, Eagles as well as Don Henley by himself, Martina McBride, Tricia Yearwood, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springstein, Bob Segar, Tina Turner, Billy Joel (twice), Elton John, George Strait, and more I can't think of off the top of my head. I've seen some of the people listed above more than once.
Taylor Swift
I would love to see Billy Joel. that is one show on my list of shows I'd love to see but haven't yet.
Billy Joel, greenday, coldplay u2, 311 incubus, tool, sum41, ransid, phis reel big fish, korn, metallica, godsmack slayer, the police, pearljam and a few more i don't remember now lol
So far, I've seen the spin doctors, our lady peace, dream theater, rush, billy joel, steve vai, the rolling stones, lady smith black moombaza, and the hampsters. I'd love to see metallica, aerosmith, eric clapton, AC/DC, zz top, van halen with Sammy Hagar, and elton john. I would have loved to see pink floyd, Jimi Hendrix, and srv.
I've got some more to add to my earlier list. For one thing, I don't think I mentioned that I saw the Eagles three times. I saw Vince Gill once by himself and another time a Christmas concert with him and his wife, Amy Grant. I also saw Paul MacCartney and Simon and Garfunkle during the most recent reunion tour.
Well, back in the day when I was a kid, I saw The Police, The Eurythmics, Duran Duran and Bon Jovi. During my college years, I saw The Red Hot Chili Peppers (who completely sucked ass BTW - Foo Fighters opened for them and stole the show), Prince, and probably a bunch more I'm forgetting. More recently, I've seen Green Day, Bon Jovi (again. And it was just as much fun as when I was 13), Cake (4 times), Flogging Molly (5 times), Dropkick Murphys (twice), The Aggrolites (3 times), Rancid, NOFX, The English Beat, The B-52's (That one was kind of sad - wish I would've seen them in their prime instead of at an Indian Casino when the wholeband was retirement age), and again, more that I'm forgetting. I'm going to see Social Distortion on Friday.
Back in 1994, Vince Gill and tricia yearwood did a concert in Nashville, at what used to be the Starwood Ampa Theater. It was an outdoors concert, so I went with some friends and we all took blankets and lounged around on the ground. It was a lot of fun.
I've seen, basicly a lot of unsigned bands etc, but also
fairport convention
steeleye span
deep purple twice
acdc twice
alice cooper 3 times
keane
damien rice
so many more....
the first concert i ever saw, when i was a kid, about 4 or 5, was jerry lee lewis, little richard, fats domino and the crickits, and i still remember that. I love rock'n'roll lol
sitting out in the grass is a fun way to see a concert. i saw the eagles that way.
Oh yeah Jack Johnson
Oh I like Jack Johnson. I still have so many bands I'd love to see.
I've been to Duran Duran and Neil Diamond. The latter puts on a great show, can't say I remember much about the former. Neil Diamond is a performer with a lot of heart, even arranged for some veterans from a V A I believe in one of the rocky mountain states to see his concert free and be escorted by limo.
Oh man, I've love to see the eagles as well as AC DC!
I remembered some more... I've also seen the moody blues, and a lute recital by mathew woddsworth when I lived in England. back in college, I happened to be hanging around at a music festival, quite intoxicated, for three performances. Bouncing souls, ghost face killer, and blond redhead. I have no clue who they are, but they were bloody terrible.
the moody blues used to be amazing, seriously.
Yeah. They aren't a band I listen to much, but, it was a great concert. I forgot another group... I'd also love to see Van Halen, but, with Sammy on vocals, not Dave.
If you don't have the first four or five moody blues albums you really are missing out on some truely great music. The rest of their stuff was alrite, but those early albums are in a class of their own.
Oh, at one time, I had all their albums. if you haven't heard live from albert hall, it's really good. came out a few years ago now. Strange Times was also good. Keys to the kingdom has some great songs on it too. Their albums in the eighties had terrible production and cheesy synth sounds galore. Some of the songs are good, but I can't listen to much of their eighties output. Live from red rocks was pretty good, although it sounds like justin had a really bad cold or something.
Lets see, concerts I've seen are as follows :
Linkin Park, with Hoobastank, Story of the Year, and P.O.D.
311 with the roots, simple plan with the graduate and Desota Jones, ( not a fan of the last two really.).
Halestorm, with Chevelle,Staind and Shinedown. RUSH, Trans Siberian Orchestra, their Christmas show and their non Christmas show.
and the last concert, so far, but definatly not the last concert I'm seeing, was Blind gardian, forget which two bands opened up for them.
I've been to a lot of concerts, but most have been classical. The latest is bach's st. John's passion which was amazing. I've also seen rain: a tribute to the beetles, which I loved, and the million dollar quartet, which was really loud, and which I didn't like due to the bad singing in my opinion and my lack of ear plugs. My friend saw The Wall when it came in October, but I didn't know about it and I missed it, wish I could have gone. That would have been awesome.
i saw the wall, it had just been painted and so i couldn't tutch it, then they decorated the rest of my house
Well, the first time ive seen anyone perform was at music store, a lil concert type thing held by the Dope House Records; SPM & LifeStyl
In 2009 i went to see Slim Thug, Trae, Rob G & Pitbull live at a club i used to go to. I was sooo packed. I had a good time & shuck Trae's hand (: And a few moths after i got to see Amanda Perez live at some other club i use to go to. I hope i get to go to a real concert someday.
I've been to concerts by Bob Dylan twice and the Police. These were great shows. I had wanted to catch the Police in concert, that was on my bucket list. They were great. I'm sure Bob Dylan was more dynamic in his younger days, but the shows I went to were still excellent. The Los Lonely boys performed at a rock festival near my hometown. They were okay. , and by far my favorite concerts were two I attended by U2. Once in '05 and just recently I caught them on their 360 Degrees tour in Denver. We had GA tickets, but got into the inner circle of the stage. Bono cruised by us on his platform. My dad and best friend said later that he looked right at me. The stage set up is amazing, and even if you have limited light perception,it was still an amazing show. I wish I could relive it! Stadium shows are really U2's forte. As far as opening acts, Kings of Leon really sucked, but this was back before they were really popular. They opened for U2 on their Vertigo tour. The biggest cheer was when the KOL singer said God Bless U2. My Morning jacket were fabulous, and so were the Fray, who just opened for U2. Even my dad was impressed, and he's seen almost all the big names. I love going to big roc concerts, especially with my dad. That's kind of our thing. We're planning to hit the next Rolling Stones tour, whenever that might be.
Let me see, shows I've been to. I've seen the headpins three times, once with streetheart, and twice with nazareth, and a free concert at the PNE two years ago. I saw iced earth, rick springfield, april wine, slayer, AC DC, judus priest twice, and kiss.
I've seen Staind twice, Seether, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin twice, and once was Ben on a solo acoustic tour which was awesome, I've also seen New Found Glory. My first ever concert was when I was 10 or so, I went to see America. They were surprisingly good, don't know about now that another 10 years has passed though. Artists I'd love to see are Neil Young and the Moody Blues. I agree taht theyir late 60's/early 70's output is amazing, and I hear that they still put on a really good show. As for Neil Young, he's one of my all-time favorite singers. He's so versatile, he can do anything and it sounds good, and yet tickets to go see him always cost an arm and a leg. Grrr.
I've been to more Broadway shows than concerts, but I have attended some memorable ones over the years. Saw Arlo Guthrie in 2006, he's still great after all these years and I'm hoping to see him again in December. Was lucky enough to attend the first of Billy Joel's Shea Stadium shows in 2008, one of the most incredible experiences of my life. And I saw Celtic Thunder in 2009. I'm not the biggest fan of their kind of music but I still enjoyed the show.
The concerts I've been to are: Raphie (my first concert when I was 4) LeAnn Rimes (saw and met her 8 times!) Billy Gilman (saw and met him 7 times!) Jessica Andrews (on Billy Gilman's tour) Anna Nalick (saw and met her 5 times, just recently saw her which would make my 5th show of hers in November!) Chris Botti (met him too) Josh Groban, saw him twice and met him once, and am going to see Josh Groban in August! Pam Tillis, (saw her in Nashville when I went to FanFair in 2006 at the Grand Ole Opry) Josh Gracen (saw him at the Grand Ole Opry the same night as Pam) Darille Worley (saw him at FanFair) Lila McCann (didn't see her perform- but I met her at FanFair in 2006) and a bunch of orchestras (SP?) since I was little too.
Dozens, of not hundreds, of bands from the Allman Brothers to Zeppelin. The only person who I can think of off the top of my hed who I haven't seen is James Taylor.
To the people who expressed interest in the Moodies, you'll have to get their "core seven" albums, from "Days of Future Past" to "Seventh Sojourn". They did some good stuff after that, but the core seven are the ones that built their reputation.
I used to be in a band that warmed up for some pretty cool people back in the early 1980's and got to see a lot of musicians that way, nobody too big, but some people may still remember them.
I saw the band Social Distortion about fifteen years ago. The two I'd love to see are Taylor Swift and the High Kings. But they're not likely to visit my nec of the woods.
I have gone to the mariah carrie concert.
that is the only concert that I have gone to.
I went to that concert with my cousin.
it was lots of fun I got a poster there.
Oh man, I love a good concert. I think the best one I ever saw was ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Freebird was nearly orgasmic.
Anyway, I've also seen Kiss, Aerosmith, Journey, Pink Floid, grate White, Poison, Def Leppard, Alanis Morrissette, George Straight, tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, and Cindy Laupper. She was my very first concert.
I would looooove to see Tom Petty.
Nickleback is coming here in April and I'd love to see them too but I have a previous obligation.
cool topic..
So the most recent concert I went to was Steely Dan. It was not as good as I was expecting, or worth the price I paid for tickets, but what the hell, it wasn't terrible either. I did see Nickelback a few years ago too, can't believe I forgot to put that in my first post. They were really good.
I havent seen live music in quite some time; the crowds and travel just dont agree with me anymore, but in the past, I've seen: Journey w/the Babys, Oingo Boingo on Halloween numerous times, many many Hollywood punk bands, almost all of the Paisley Underground bands, War, Santana, Genesis, The Police, Yes (about 4 times), Pink Floyd (about 5 times) and a whole slew of unknowns.
hmmm rammstein, amorfis, nightwish, children of bodom, winds of plague, eluveitie,
and other ones can't remember
casting crowns
I've went to see *nsync* and b2k. as well. smiles. it was awesome.
Just got back from seeing Kittie, the agonist, blackguard and bonded by blood it was fucking awesome!
Got to meet the singers from the agonist and bonded by blood, as well as all the members of kittie, which made my night! Pits and crowd surfing were awesome! good show!
When we saw Def Leppard, it was awesome because we met up with a friend who had backstage passes. My husband had his guide dog and the band thought he was really cool. Hubby had to take a wiz so Phil Collin was like, "Oh come on man, you can use ours." How cool is that? yes, I was jealous.
This topic is reminding me of how many oncerts I've actually bee to. All of these posts are amazing. Ok, here goes!!!
Seen Seal twice, Crosby Stills Nash and young like 3 times (Their last show was horrible!!!) Saw Maroon 5, once when they opened for John Mayor and once as the headlining act. Saw Sting and the Eurhythmics (Annie Lennyx is amazing!!!) Saw Joe Jackson a long time ago, saw John Mayor twice, saw Hall and Otes, Michael McDonald, and Heart. (Heart was sooooooo good!) I saw Backstreet Boys on Halloween one year with my mom and sister, and I also saw Boys to men with them when I was like 8, but my two fave concerts, besides Boys to men, were Destinies Child on their final tour and Stevie Wonder!!!
I'd love to see Jessie J, Tori Amos, Damien Rice, Led Zeplin, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Musik soulchild, and a ton of other artists.
hmm my list saw clay aken his christmas show, american idle season 2 tour. josh groban 3 times, celtic woman, twice. with in 6 months, evanescence back in 07, arron carter, arg glurp, brox and dun, when i was like 3, and that's bout it.
oh and clay aken again at the big E a few years back too.
Last night I saw five finger death punch, killswitch engage(with Jessie leach back on vocals),
trivium, emmure, god forbid, pop evil, and battlecross
